Meet Dylan Churchill | Spiritual Counselor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dylan Churchill and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dylan, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
My favorite quote is actually a variation on an already existing quote from the novel Dune. “Fear is the Mind-Killer” is a quote that has resonated with me for quite some time. In contemplation of its meaning, another quote came to mind and that was, “Judgement is the Heart-Killer.” I think about this often, as judgement creeps into our day to day way of living, our hearts often remain closed. Judgement is the silent heart killer, and everyone is suffering from it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art comes in the form of music crafted to deepen an individual’s experience with themselves. I make music in hopes it allows the listener to surrender to their inner reality, and experience the fruits of going there. I have played instruments since I was four years old, primarily guitar. But following a life-altering Spiritual Awakening which happened to me when I was twenty years old, I began to realize I could use instruments and sound to help others experience vast dimensions of themselves without having to go on some major retreat, or mediate for hours on end. Today, I am respected in my community as a guide for others on their path to Self-Realization.
The part that excites me most about this path is the idea that with something as simple as music, people can awaken to what they really are without much effort.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area in the summertime, I would take them to Laguna Beach. Starting the day off at the Orange Cafe for breakfast, then heading over to Treasure Island near the montage for some sunbathing. Possibly having dinner and cocktails at Broadway by Amar Santana, and then hitting the Sawdust Festival of the Arts for the last couple hours of the evening. I believe Laguna Beach captures the heart of living near the coast in Orange County.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout the Spiritual Teacher Eckhart Tolle for his contribution to the world in the form of his book, “The Power of Now.” Following a life-changing experience I had when I was twenty years old, this book provided the insight and guidance necessary for implementing a life dedicated to the present moment.
