Meet Mythodical Joe | Hip-hop artist and actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mythodical Joe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mythodical, how do you think about risk?
I very much believe in risk and the art of chance. It is just that, a flip of the coin, a throw of the dice. I believe that life is a gamble, and it is what makes life so interesting. Everything from the people we meet, to the trips we take (or don’t) down to the routes we take to and from work, school etc. There are so many things I believe are left up to chance in this world. and I am a firm believer that the risks I take in my own life and in my own career, are either going to work or it’s going to be a fun story to tell. Being in the entertainment industry it’s all about networking. and I have been fortunate enough to work with a lot of talented artists based on the risks I took in just leaving the house to see a friend perform or go to an event when I really just wanted to stay home. Right place right time but that’s all so coupled with the risks we take In our daily lives. I’ve also taken risks In certain choices I’ve made with my music. Whether it be subject matter or even the various different genres to work in as a hip hop artist. I don’t think you can ever expand in your life or your career without taking a few risks.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart is my dedication to keeping the essence of real, meaningful “old school” hip-hop alive while blending it with my personal journey. Growing up in a military family made me learn to adapt quickly and find my identity through music. Hip-hop became my outlet, my way of expressing myself when the world around me was always changing.
I’m proud of how far I’ve come despite the challenges. My path wasn’t easy—I’ve faced setbacks-a failed sit-down with Capitol Records and a long hiatus from music. But those struggles shaped me into who I am today. I had to learn patience, resilience, and the importance of believing in myself even when things didn’t go as planned. During my time away from music, (10 years) I focused on growing as a person and staying connected to what truly matters—family, passion, and authenticity.
Professionally, I reached this point by staying true to myself and never abandoning my love for music. I keep writing, keep learning, and find inspiration in everything around me and all that I’ve been through. Coming back after a decade was not easy, but seeing the change in hip-hop reignited my drive to make music. Taking hip hop back to its roots to create something meaningful-something that reflects where I’ve been and where I want to go.
The biggest lesson is probably to never give up and not let my age stop me from chasing my dreams. You can redefine your path, even when it feels like it’s too late. I’m learning perseverance, staying true to my craft, and keeping the right people around me. I also feel like I’m still trying to find my voice but I’m learning to stop being such a heavy critic on myself and to just let go sometimes.
I want the world to know that I’m here to tell my truth through music and create an experience that’s real. My brand is all about staying connected to the culture, but also about personal growth and always striving to be better—not just as an artist, but as a person. My story is about reinvention and the power of never giving up, and I hope that message resonates with others.
