We had the good fortune of connecting with Jolene Earthwednesday Marquez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jolene Earthwednesday, is there something you believe many others might not?
One piece of conventional advice I disagree with is “Stick to the plan no matter what.” If I had done that, my business wouldn’t have made it past the first 30 days. Less than 10 days after obtaining my flower shop, I was faced with a full-blown shutdown, with no access to funding because I was a brand-new business. The only way for my shop to survive was to go against the grain and break the rules—not something I recommend lightly, but when you’re staring down adversity with no other help available, you do what you have to do to survive and ask for forgiveness later.

My flower shop temporarily transformed into a produce stand, and I truly believe that decision was my saving grace. We were able to provide nutritious fruits, vegetables, and eggs to so many families in need during a difficult time. Social media became my lifeline, and I had to fully engage every single day to communicate and connect with my community. The challenges of COVID alone were staggering, but looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing. Those moments taught me the value of resilience, creativity, and serving my community in ways I never expected. Sometimes, success comes from stepping away from the plan and finding new ways to bloom.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art as a floral designer is deeply rooted in intuition and creativity. I approach each project as a unique opportunity to bring my clients’ visions to life, blending their ideas with my creative instincts. I don’t follow a rigid formula—instead, I allow the flowers, colors, and textures to guide me in crafting designs that are both meaningful and texture.

What sets me apart is my ability to design intuitively. I listen not only to my clients but also to the story they want to tell through the arrangements., I create with intention, ensuring that each piece feels personal and heartfelt.

Getting to where I am today hasn’t been easy. It’s been a journey of trial, error, and resilience- especially through Covid. One of the biggest challenges I faced was transitioning from the corporate world to running my own business—a leap that required courage and trust in myself. I’ve learned that passion and authenticity are powerful drivers of success. By staying true to what feeds my soul, I’ve been able to overcome obstacles and create a business that reflects who I am.

I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built along the way. My customers aren’t just clients; they’re part of my story, and their trust inspires me every day. If there’s one thing I want the world to know about my brand and story, it’s that flowers are more than just decorations—they’re a way to celebrate life, express emotions, and create lasting memories. My mission is to bring beauty and connection into people’s lives, one petal at a time

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My story wouldn’t be complete without giving a heartfelt shoutout to my family, friends, and community who have been my biggest cheerleaders from the very beginning. Their love, encouragement, and unwavering support have been the foundation of everything from the ground up.

My shoutout is 1000% dedicated to my amazing customers and the incredible stories they bring with them. Every single customer is like a wildflower in the garden of life—beautiful, unique, and full of character. I’m so grateful to each of them for trusting me with their special moments and for supporting my dream. They’re the reason I get to wake up every day and do what I love, and I truly couldn’t do it without them. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your lives and for keeping my dream alive!!

Lastly, I want to thank all the BELIEVERS! I love you all !
