We had the good fortune of connecting with Stefano Amelio and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stefano, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
My passion for food and all things delicious, new and exciting. Life is too short to not enjoy good delicious food!

What should our readers know about your business?
Our desserts are not just sugar thrown into a jar, they are curated with much thought, market-testing, customer feedback and above all, a passion for quality, all-natural ingredients. We of course offer regular flavors, but also have delicious, exotic flavors where we blend the best of Italy and America together to create a sensational harmony of yumminess.
Business is never easy, and in the quiet times, we prepared for and believed in more fruitful times ahead. The biggest lesson learned, is that when you get knocked down, you must get up again, even if in small, slow steps. Just keep going.
We want our brand to be synonymous with quality, above all else.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Easy! I would take them surfing to Beacons Beach in Leucadia (San Diego County), followed by a quick taco at The Taco Stand in downtown Encinitas (San Diego County).
For a full-on dining and wining experience, I would eat out at Amalfi Cucina Italiana in San Marcos (San Diego County) where good food and drinks are dished up literally on the lakefront with an energy and vibe that cannot be beaten!
I would also have to take them golfing to one of my favorite courses ever, Goat Hill Park Golf Club in Oceanside, CA.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The initial inspiration behind our desserts and brand was born out of a love for food that was cultivated in me at a young age from my grandmother in Rome, Italy. She is still alive, well and proud at the age of 104! She has never wavered in her belief in me and my dream to make a success of my life in the US! Then, at ground level here, I must first and foremost acknowledge my incredible team, both on the sales front and in the production facility itself. It takes a village as they say, and without these dedicated and hard-working individuals, Sweet Craft would not be possible.
