We had the good fortune of connecting with 1)wendy 2)janitzio 1)gutierrez 2)leal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi 1)Wendy 2)Janitzio, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
We started our business because we saw a simple problem causing unnecessary hassle for many people: changing tires. Most of us rely on auto shops or service centers, which can be time-consuming, expensive, and inconvenient. We thought, ‘There has to be a better way.’ We realized that, despite how common tire maintenance is, there wasn’t a reliable, easy solution that directly brought this service to people at their homes.

We wanted to offer customers a stress-free, convenient way to get their tires changed without having to leave their driveway. This would save them time and offer more flexibility in scheduling. The idea was simple but powerful: bring the service to them, whether it’s for routine tire changes, seasonal swaps, or emergencies.

The motivation behind it wasn’t just about business—it was about family. When COVID hit, many people were laid off, and it hit close to home for us. We found ourselves looking for new ways to provide for ourselves and create something that could last, something that we could build together. That’s when we saw the opportunity in this market. We wanted to create a family business, something that would not only provide for us but also make a real difference for our customers. We wanted to offer a service that could simplify a common problem, and in doing so, build a future for our family, all while helping others do the same.

What motivated us was the fact that, at the time, there wasn’t a big market for this kind of service. We saw an opportunity to innovate, change the way people think about tire maintenance, and provide a solution that was long overdue. It wasn’t just about building a business; it was about making life easier for people while giving our family a chance to thrive in a challenging time.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Starting and running a business has been a journey full of challenges and learning experiences. There were days when it felt like the obstacles were never-ending, and the road ahead seemed uncertain. But through every hardship, we’ve learned something new, whether it was about the industry, the people we serve, or ourselves. The key to making it through tough times is perseverance and the willingness to learn from every setback. If we had any advice for those thinking about starting a business, it would be this: embrace the challenges as opportunities to grow. Every tough moment is a lesson in disguise, and with determination, you’ll find a way to overcome it. Never give up—what feels like a setback today can be the building block for tomorrow’s success.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of our absolute favorite spots in San Diego is Little Italy. It’s a vibrant neighborhood that feels like a hidden gem, with its charming streets, amazing food, and warm, welcoming people. Whether we’re grabbing a coffee at a local café or enjoying some of the best Italian dishes around, Little Italy never fails to impress. The atmosphere is lively and friendly, and there’s always something new to discover—whether it’s a unique shop, a cozy restaurant, or a special event happening in the heart of the community. Little Italy truly embodies the spirit of San Diego, blending culture, great food, and a sense of connection all in one place. Our favorite place to eat would be Solunto Ristorante & Bakery. Must try!
