Meet Dustin Abrams | Par Partner – Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dustin Abrams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dustin, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was about to play my first round of golf in a year or so and I realized I had not cleaned my clubs in what looked like forever. I looked up the best way to clean clubs on the internet and found that an old toothbrush was rated top of the list accompanied with some warm water and soap. After I was done cleaning half of my clubs I realized the toothbrush had worn down to the plastic and the bristles that were left were bent sideways. I thought about what else I could use to finish the job and all of a sudden I decided to use the same tool I had cleaned my dogs teeth with earlier that day. It was then that I realized I may be onto something since the silicone was extremely tough and durable yet nonabrasive. After many months of finding the right manufacturer and many more months of R&D, Groove Partner, the functional, nonabrasive easy to use tool, that fits on your thumb and conveniently clips to your belt loop so its ready when you need it was ready for the course!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I am not working on Par Partner or toward my TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) certification, I work as a Personal Trainer and a Physical and Cognitive Rehabilitation Specialist working with all types of chronic illnesses and disease; dementia, Parkinson’s, traumatic brain injury, Louie Body and any other illnesses or disease. My goal and mission starting ProCare Fitness and Wellness was to help those in need and treat each client the way I would want my family treated if they were the ones suffering. I am most proud of being able to help people that are not able to help themselves along with helping the families who are not unsure how to navigate the tough times they face with their loved one.
After my best friend and business partner in Par Partner was hit on his motorcycle and suffered from traumatic brain injury and blindness, I changed professions and did everything I could to learn how to help in his recovery. This road has been very rewarding and I am so thankful to be able to help people on a daily basis which is why we at Par Partner have proudly teamed up with the Adult Transition Program at Ramona High School in Ramona, CA where every Groove Partner purchased helps provide them with meaningful and sustainable work skills, and empowers them to be more responsible, more creative, be independent, and embrace accountability.

To my incredible family and friends,
Thank you to my family and friends for being my unwavering support system as I’ve chased my dreams and embarked on this journey of building something I truly believe in. Huge shoutout goes to my beautiful and loving wife who continues to show her encouragement, patience, subtle reminders to stay focused and keep moving forward, and most importantly, to cherish every step of the process. You’ve shown me the beauty of the little things and the joy of the ride. This wouldn’t be possible without you, and I’m endlessly grateful.
I would also like to shoutout the team at Sunday Golf, TeeTime Leather and Birdies In The Outfield for all of the amazing support they have shown me on this wild journey.
