Meet Desiree Parker | Lavonne’s The Agency, Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Desiree Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Desiree, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started off modeling and acting myself. I have been in over 20 commercials and signed to many different agencies.
I noticed that I was very good at booking myself and always admired my agents. I wanted to give up and coming modeling and actors the knowledge and guidance that I wished I had received when I first started out.
I know that one of the hardest part of starting in this business is finding credible guidance. Since I have done this for myself, I knew that I could use this knowledge to help others.
I wanted people to say “Because of Lavonne’s The Agency, I am where I am today”. I wanted meeting me to change the trajectory of peoples lives in a positive way.

What should our readers know about your business?
Lavonne’s The Agency is a talent Agency specializing in Commercial and print bookings for kids and young adults.
What sets Lavonne’s The Agency apart from other businesses is that we take a special interest to every talent on our roster. We are constantly evaluating the abilities of our talent and advising them of the tools needed to be the best talent on the market.
We have and eye for great talent so we are able to notice a diamonds in the rough and establish them into a stars.
We notice all different types of stars:
-Natural born stars: these talent do not need much guidance to make it. Just the opportunity. They come in with the abilities needed to succeed and require very little advisement to close auditions. These talent book the 1st audition that they ever go on.
-Ultimate Stars: These stars have a natural ability paired with experience in training (These are the most marketable talent on the market). These talent booked their first audition and continue to book and pursue training.
-Diamond in The Rough: These type of talent have potential, but need work in order to book. These talent usually have a great look or skill, but take a lot of training, advisement and feedback in order to start booking jobs. These talent may take up to 12 auditions or a year of submissions to start booking.
-Developed Stars: These are talent who may have taken a lot of time and/or training to get started, but learned the skills and personality needed to book and are able to now book consistent work.
The household names that you know and love are either Ultimate Stars or Developed Stars.
We are most proud when talent stays consistent in auditions and is able to begin sustaining consistent bookings.
We are excited to be opening a TV and Film Division in 2025 that we will be moving all of our stars into.
