We had the good fortune of connecting with Patrick Mcintyre and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Patrick, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I think it was a delusional thought process of dreams of grandeur. Because I did not look into the industry and statistics for a start up businesses. All I knew, was I had a tremendous amount of anxiety, and kept thinking, “what am I doing?”

Fortunately, despite picking the absolute worst time to start a loan business, it is working out. It turned out to be a spiritual game of conquering emotions. Mind over emotions, I suppose. Making myself get into action even though I felt like I was paralyzed by anxiety. No time for analysis paralysis, just action. Get up and go get the failures and mistakes over with. I thought I was all prepared emotionally after years of nursing and being single learning how to put myself out there in the dating seen. But insurance and loan sales is it own world that I had to learn to get comfortable in. No short cuts available.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The business is McIntyre Loans. We offer a plethora of real estate loans, commercial loans for businesses and recreational loans for yachts and RVs. The nice thing about our platform is we can help clients find out all the various methods of securing financing. If the financing opportunities aren’t available, we’ll help the customer get on track to fulfill their financial needs.

The way I got moving along and pulling in transactions is through marketing. Paying for marketing support via telemarketing, social media manager / content creator or lead advertising. Plus, weeding through all the lenders and markets, learning what is possible to fund different opportunities, whether recreation, business or a home.

The biggest challenge was dealing with fear and anxiety. Learning to live with it while I pushed through the business start-up process.

The lessons were about how long it really takes to get a business going. Much longer than my delusional thinking told me. The other is that marketing is not stagnate. It is a not stop learning process. Like I need to be in it learning about the market place and keeping up to pace.

The difference my brand offers, is going to the bat for our customers, like no other and making the process of borrowing convenient. Normally, borrowing money can be a struggle with lots of rejection. It’s a lot of work to shop for a loan. We make it a easy and pleasant experience.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spots in San Diego, include San Diego Bay front in down town San Diego, with the Gas Lamp district, Petco Park, Sea Port Village, Midway Aircraft Carrier, Maritime Museum and lastly Little Italy. So many amazing restaurants, bars, shopping, museums and amusing activities.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
YouTube motivational videos, audio books, meditation and yoga videos were a tremendous help. It was helpful having someone explain exactly what I was experiencing in words and what I needed to do about it.

David Goggins is inspiring. It hurts, yeah it all hurts, choose your hurt.

Jim Rohn was pretty helpful. If you are in the wealthiest country in the world with the most opportunities ever in the history of the world and you are depressed and broke. You messed up.

Boho Beautiful yoga videos helped me too. Breath out everything that no longer serves you.

The list could go on and on with all the clients that believed in me as well as work and business associates giving me guidance and advice.
