Hi Kristin, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Risk-taking has been a fundamental part of my journey in the bakery business. When I first decided to do Sugar Dot Bake Shop, it was a significant financial and personal risk, stepping into an uncertain market with no guaranteed success. Each decision, from choosing the menu options, experimenting with new recipes and marketing strategies, involved calculated risks. Embracing these risks has allowed me to innovate and grow my business, ultimately creating a unique and beloved bakery that stands out in the community. Reflecting on my career, I see that taking risks was essential not only for overcoming initial challenges but also for driving the continuous evolution and success of my business.

What sets Sugar Dot Bake Shop apart is our commitment to blending traditional techniques with innovative flavors and ingredients. I take immense pride in crafting each product with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every bite delivers a unique and memorable experience. What excites me most is experimenting with new recipes and watching our customers’ delight as they try our creations. Along the way, I’ve learned that persistence and adaptability are key to overcoming challenges. Each setback has taught me valuable lessons about resilience and creativity, reinforcing my belief in the importance of passion and continuous learning in this ever-evolving industry.


Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting the area, I’d plan a delightful day to showcase the charm and vibrancy of our community. We’d start with a leisurely breakfast at my home with some yummy food and mimosas. Afterward, we’d stroll through the local farmers’ market, exploring fresh produce and artisanal goods. For lunch, I’d take them to a cozy café with great local flavors. In the afternoon, we’d visit a nearby park or scenic spot to enjoy some natural beauty and relax. We’d wrap up the day with dinner at a popular local restaurant, followed by a visit to a local gallery or cultural event, celebrating the artistic spirit of our area. It would be a perfect blend of culinary experiences and local culture, reflecting the best of what our community has to offer

Embarking on this bakery journey has been a deeply personal and challenging experience, and I owe a great deal of my success to my family. Their endless patience, encouragement, and practical support have been invaluable. From offering advice and lending a hand during busy times to believing in my dreams even when the road was tough, their unwavering support has been a cornerstone of my growth. I am profoundly grateful for their role in helping me turn my passion into reality and for being my steadfast cheerleaders throughout this journey.
