We had the good fortune of connecting with Diana Delgado and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Diana, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I was born in Los Angeles but raised in San Bernardino. I grew up in a typical Mexican household in San Bernardino, with parents emphasizing the importance of job security, instilled a strong sense of responsibility and caution when it came to making decisions about my career and financial future. The idea of entrepreneurship and owning a business seemed risky and unfamiliar. However, being a single mother shifted my perspective. The need to provide for myself and family led me to consider entrepreneurship as a viable option despite the risks. While my upbringing may have initially instilled a preference for job security, my experiences as a single mother and the support of my family have empowered me to take risks and pursue my entrepreneurial goals.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Being raised in a Spanish speaking household, it has always been a priority to assist those that do not fully comprehend the English language. When I purchased Source Documents, Inc. four years ago, the Hispanic community did not really know what services were provided. I am proud to say now that the word has spread and 75% of our clients are only Spanish speakers. It was not easy to for this demographic to come to Source Documents, Inc. for any type of assistance, it took time to earn their trust.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would absolutely take them to the Father Serra Cross for a view of the city, Lake Casitas for a walk and/or picnic. Breakfast at Egg N’ Things, Lunch at Nature’s Grill, dinner at Lure’s Fish House and drinks at Rocks & Drams.

Walking down town Ventura is a treat, book stores, coffee shops and music are always a sure deal.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family, I could not have done it without the support of my parents and siblings. They all have been there not only me but for my son as well. When putting in late hours at the office or stuck in a meeting, my family always stepped up and made sure my son was taken care of.
