Meet Jomara Gonzalez | Event Host and Real Estate Investor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jomara Gonzalez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jomara, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
I am proud to have shown my children how dreams really can come true if you are willing to work hard to bring them into fruition. As a corporate employee I had “golden handcuffs” provding me a nice salary and 3 weeks of vacation a year. What it did not to do for me was fill a void I felt within knowing that I was put on this earth to shoot for the stars! When I decided to pursue my enteprenual ventures I had prepared myself by saving and lowering my expenses with the understanding that it may take some time to get to where I was (and beyond) compensation wise. I showed my children the importance of preparation and execution.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am a self-proclaimed “serial enteprenuer”. Once I left my corporate job my mind was able to explore many avenues and currently I have founded a couple of businesses that serve our local community. Girls Day Out offers curated tours and events for groups of women. Recognizing that many women do not give themselves a break from the daily routine to relax and have fun with like-minded women I felt it was important to create a business that was rooted in my passion of entertaining and networking. Currently, I host monthly meet ups as I work to create a community of women who support one another in life and business endeavors. Next, to go in conjuntion with the need for transportation for our Girls Day Out events I created a transportation company called Magic Carpet Shuttle & Tours. I took the time to obtain my commericial driver’s license and am one of the tour guides for this business. As I have been on this journey, post corporate career, I’ve made it my mission to give back to the community and be more involved. I work with a local shelter for families, Operation Hope in Vista, providing monthly homecooked meals for the clients as well as planning events such as paint and gingerbread making parties. I feel so blessed and I know that now I am truly working towards what I was put on this earth to do.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would start the trip with a drive to Oceanside Beach, my hometown, to cruise the strand then park and walk around downtown. 333 is a must stop for a Tito’s dirty martini then we can grab a bite at Q & A’s. The following day we would hire Magic Carpet Shuttle & Tours for a fun tour around the Temecula Wine Country. Being driven around and treated like a VIP is the best way to enjoy this afternoon. We’d laugh over some wine and a charcuterie board at the last stop and enjoy a gorgeous sunset in the valley. She happens to be in town the same weekend Girls Day Out is hosting their annual retreat, so we book 2 tickets and enjoy a day of being pampered with amazing food, drinks, massages, facials all while enjoying the facilities at a gorgeous property. Since we both hate traffic we decide to pass on LA and instead explore South Cedros in Solana Beach.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband Manny has always been my staunches supporter no matter how crazy the idea my visionary brain has concocted. Having a partner who has always made me feel free to let my wings fly knowing that everything I do is for the betterment of our family and given me the opportunity to dream big.
