Meet Jasmine Vuong | Socal Foodie & Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Vuong and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasmine, what do you attribute your success to?
Authenticity is the key behind @foodwithjasmine. I started this account because of my love for food and photography. I wanted to showcase and share my food adventures from where I went and what I ate to what I created. But of course, throughout this journey, there were some ups and downs with what content I wanted to create and publish. I got caught up in the idea of wanting to be like other food creators and making content like them so I lost myself. This idea of conformity clouded my mind so I forgot about my individuality. I didn’t like the feeling of losing myself and the idea of “Why am I trying to be someone I’m not?”, so I made up my mind and changed for the better, for myself. With this new mindset, I was able to see my world differently and be myself. As time passed, I expressed myself through my works and my stories were told. At the end of the day, I embraced myself and my capabilities and I got to explore my own creative side through @foodwithjasmine. I was my own inspiration and always will be.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being a huge foodie is a passion and hobby of mine, but it wasn’t easy to get to where I am today. Throughout these years of being on social media, I’ve stumbled across several obstacles internally and externally. However, that doesn’t mean that I gave up. I continued and persevered through those difficult times and learned a lot about myself and what I wanted to showcase on my IG: @foodwithjasmine. Social media will always be changing and new trends will always arise, but it is I, who can tell my own story through my works regardless of what is trending or not. Outside of being a foodie, blogger, content creator, designer, and photographer, I am a student who balances life between school and work. Currently, I am working towards my physical therapy degree while volunteering at several healthcare facilities. I love being in the healthcare industry because it is so rewarding. Helping others is what I live for! Also, it is just so amazing to see what impact I can make even if it’s big or little.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I know hanging out with foodies like me could be quite a hassle sometimes because our friends, family, coworkers, etc. would always have to wait awhile before they can eat or drink anything! We have to get our content before any consumption because “Camera eats first” right? Usually their hot food or drinks would get cold and their cold, icy drinks would melt, so they could never get to “fully” enjoy their meal/drinks. So, to my family and friends, who were super patient with me and adhered to eating “cold” food while I made content, thank you! And to my hand models, thank you for giving me your time and patience to hold up the food/drinks while I direct your hand placement!
