Meet Alana Frost | CEO | Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alana Frost and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alana, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk is necessary to see results in any area of your life. Risk has been a part of my entire life, when I look back and think of everything that I’ve accomplished, I had to work hard for it.
Risk doesn’t necessarily mean dangerous or impossible, it just means that, for whoever you are, wherever you are at that point in your life, it’s something unknown and it puts you in a position where you can lose something.
When I started my company I had zero dollars. It may have seemed like I didn’t have to risk anything, but I spent the next six months building my business foundation before I made any money. There’s lots of risk in that. That was just the beginning. The bigger the company grows the more the risk. It’s exciting and scary and it’s necessary.
What should our readers know about your business?
I’m the CEO and founder of Alana’s Organizing, a professional home organization and relocation concierge. We work with women and families to create a functional and organized home, as well as provide complete turn key relocations. We handle everything from preparing their home to move, coordinating all the services and setting up their new home.
What sets us apart is our desire to predominantly work with women and mothers, because they are so loaded down, and they feel guilty for asking for the help that they need. We’re able to provide a really personalized experience for them that’s guilt free, and empowers them to have someone in their corner that is helping them create a home that they enjoy being in.
We help them to not feel invisible, and to help them see that they matter. I’m most proud of the relationships that I’ve built along the way. While it’s always nice and fulfilling to organize a home and help people move, the relationships mean more to me than all of it.
I care a lot for my clients and I think about the struggles that they’re going through even after we’ve worked together. I want the world to know that we are about connection and relationships, not just pretty bins and baskets.
I believe I’ve gotten where I am today because of choosing not to give up, despite the challenges. Growing a business is a lot of work, there’s a lot of mistakes that happen and sometimes the work doesn’t feel worth the effort. But by choosing to not give up, it’s allowed me to experience the fruits of my labor and see growth that I only imagined.
It’s important to feel the fear of the unknown, and do the work anyway, even when you don’t know how it will turn out. Be okay with making mistakes, they’re necessary to course correct and see real growth.
Learn to be comfortable with being uncomfortable, because there will never be a point in time when you have all the answers.
I want the world to know that we’re truly a brand that’s focused on relationships with our clients. We care about their needs, we’re listening, and we are always looking for ways to support them even further. We hope to build connections that will last far into the future, and not just for today.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them all along the coast line. California has great beaches and the food is amazing! We’d start at Ocean Beach and move on up to Mission, Pacific, La Jolla and Del Mar. We’d go get smoothies at Earth Bar in Del Mar, and try some seafood at the point Loma Seafood Market. Then go to Little Italy and eat some pasta at Bencotto, and then swing by Kettner Exchange for some drinks. I’d also take them to Balboa Park to experience the art and culture there, there’s so many museums and events going on. It’s a truly rich experience.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely have to thank my team for their support, efforts and dedication. Building a business can’t be done alone, and you need great people who care about your mission and vision. I’m so grateful for the hard work they put in everyday to make our work a success, and the commitment they show to becoming better and better each day.
