Meet Cora Truelove | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cora Truelove and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cora, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Hello my name is Cora Truelove, and I am an artist.
I feel like I am meant to be an artist. I started this journey of marketing, creating, and discipline when I was 8 years old. I say that I feel like I am meant to be an artist because around that same time is when my health went down hill.
I was born with scoliosis and later on had surgery for it. Ever since my back operation, I’ve been in more pain than I ever was. I’ve got nerve damage along with auto immune disorders, that is pain on top of pain. I cannot work a “normal” 9-5 job. Everyday is a struggle, but I thank God for giving this blessing of talent especially being so young.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Speaking on behalf of myself from what I’ve observed about people in this industry, is that there are so many people out to get you. I am blessed even with nothing in my pockets, I know God has my back. I have seen multiple artists scam so many people including them scamming me, and I just don’t see how people could do that. I always go through with everything whether it is a commission, collaboration, even a gift.
I used to go through big-name selling websites, but ever since I got my own website people think weary of it and prefer not to purchase through it. I totally understand that, so that’s why I do my best to be professional and comforting to my clients.
That is another reason why I do enjoy social media because you see behind the scenes work and my personality!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well I am from Dallas, Texas. Growing up I had always moved back and forth to San Diego, and I just absolutely love the beach! Imperial beach is my absolute favorite. I love to go out in the mornings just to watch, listen, and feel the beauty IB has to offer. It is probably my favorite spot in the United States! I love to draw there too. So relaxing! Talk about the food too! I love Texas, but my goodness there isnt food here like there is in Socal.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shout out to my mother Diamantina from “Dia’s frugal life” on youtube. She is my biggest blessing. Showed me the teachings of Dave Ramsey, kindness, how to let loose and love, and is a great role model for me to be a great person despite my pain and physical hurt.
