We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Christine Adamo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Christine, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
Hello. My name is Dr. Christine Adamo. I’m a board-certified, integrative medical physician who specializes in the field of oncology. I provide care for those who are diagnosed with and are affected by cancer.

My passion for oncology started when I was five years old. I recall standing in my parents’ bedroom one Sunday morning asking my mom where my father was. He had been gone from home for a couple of days, which was very unusual. After constant pleading and questioning, my mom finally told me that my dad was in the hospital. Days later I found out that my father had cancer. With treatment and recovery, my father survived his disease. This experience made a strong impression on me. After my own health journey in 2003 that led me into the field of medicine, this memory carved out my desire to specialize in the field of oncology.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m passionate about helping those who are affected by cancer. As an integrative provider, I believe in comprehensive approach to healthcare… one that combines the best of both conventional and traditional medicine. My specialty is incorporating safe, effective, evidence-based, natural therapies, into my patients’ care plans. I treat patients as whole beings, addressing their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health; not just their disease.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My itinerary would include: A ferry ride to Coronado
A hike at Torrey Pines
A stroll around Balboa Park
Paddle boarding in Mission Bay
A bike ride along the 101
Watching the sunset at La Jolla Shores

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ve been practicing medicine since 2009. I have my own practice but work within an out-patient cancer center in North County, called California Cancer Canter for Research and Excellence (ccCARE). This clinical setting has seasoned me in field of oncology and has allowed me to stay current on the most recent advancements in treating cancer.
